Let’s be honest, superhero games are (for the most part) fun as hell at the beginning, but wear thin after, say… an hour (or when the buzz wears off). As with most games that coincide with the release of a movie, Hulk feels like a rush-job… Think of the ultra-cool, old school mentality of Rampage, added to the standard “me punch and smash” generics of Double Dragon and a pinch of the free roam enjoyment found in your standard GTA game. As good as that may sound, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. SF
In continuing with the trend of “punk covers,” we come to this gem. Thirteen high-energy tracks by the masterminds who combined the “spectacle” of GG Allen (minus the defecating… we hope), with the smooth, hip-gyratin’ tunes of the King. But this isn’t just lame covers done with more drums and heavier guitars. No, no… they actually make this shit work. It’s like Lemmy from Motorhead singing drunken karaoke. SF
I had another book in mind to review, but in a simple twist of fate, I rushed to into the washroom to drop anchor and picked up this little gem to pass the time. As a breeder with two kids under my belt, I know a young mind is a fun thing to mess with and this piece of work goes the extra mile, making sure that the little tykes will end up in therapy somewhere down the road.
