My personal belief is that CBD is made for Black Women. Known to reduce inflammation, alleviate stress, help relieve pain, coupled with antibacterial properties, CBD promises to be a great addition to your self-care routine. Needless to say, CBD works on multiple levels to make you feel and look good. I’ve been blessed enough to try a wide-array of cannabis-infused beauty products, and within days I’ve seen a huge difference in my skin and my mood. I’m a strong advocate for Black Women infusing their beauty routine, from top to bottom, with cannabis, so I compiled a list of my favorite CBD products that we all can use to help us feel and look good this spring.
1. Undefined Beauty – Glow Elixir ($42)
If you’re looking for a beauty oil that will leave your skin visibly brighter, then look no further. The Glow Elixir from Undefined Beauty is my absolute favorite oil because it is fast-acting, light, and extremely effective. Within days of trying out this oil, my skin was a lot smoother and brighter. The CBD in this product rejuvenates the skin, while other oils like sweet almond oil works to soften and jojoba oil unclogs your pores.
My Recommendation: Use this in the morning and at night right after toning. With this oil, there is no need for a heavy moisturizer because it is formulated to give your skin all the nourishment and moisture that it needs.
2. Dehiya – Biru Balm ($42)
The way our skin looks is a great indicator of how stressed we may be. The Biru Balm by Dehiya can be used to soothe any acne flare-ups, sun burns, or irritated skin problems you may be experiencing. As someone who suffers from occasional breakouts right before my period, the Biru Balms has been super helpful for helping calm painful pimples and adding extra hydration to my sometimes dry skin. What makes this product even more amazing is that it is multi-use, so you can rub it on your muscles to alleviate pain, massage into your temples to help reduce a headache, or warm it onto your belly or pelvis to help with menstrual cramps.
My Recommendation: If you plan to spend lots of time in the sun like me (I’m a Florida girl who loves the sun), then definitely keep this in your beach bag. Yes, our melanin is magical but we should also be protecting it. With air pollution and the possibility of sun damage, the Biru Balm is guaranteed to be one of your favorite ways to protect your skin during the hotter months.
3. Filthy Cosmetics F13 HAZE CBD FACE + BODY BAR ($13.13)
I’ve always been a fan of the Filthy Cosmetics aesthetic, so when I saw that she had a CBD-infused face and body bar, I had to try it out. Let me tell you, it smells so amazing right out of the pack. As you’re rubbing the bar into your skin and getting a nice lather, the smell of black pepper and clove oil float up into your nostrils and instantly relax you. Like all of the products that I’ve mentioned so far, this product is packed with the right amount of CBD that will give you glowing skin. During high-stress periods, my tinea versicolor flares up really badly. After about a week of using this bar, the tinea versicolor had cleared and my skin was glowing. Not only did it give me the healthy-looking skin that I crave, but the beautiful smell gave me a good dose of aromatherapy while I was in the shower.
My recommendation: This is a wonderful product for those who love to take their showers in the morning. Its strong scent will instantly wake you up, but it will also have you feeling a lot less stressed. I suggest that you buy multiple bars at a time, because you are likely to use 1 full bar within a few days.
I definitely believe that this Spring is going to birth so many amazing opportunities for many of us, and we can’t be walking around looking tired and worn-out. WellsCBD has truly created something that will nourish your under eyes, while making sure they aren’t puffy. Packed with green tea extract, aloe vera, and hemp, your under eyes will feel nourished, look brighter, and be wrinkle-free.
My recommendation: I typically use this eye repair treatment at night after applying the Undefined Beauty Glow Elixir. When I wake up in the morning, my skin is hella soft and moisturized, but I also have a fresh and rejuvenated look because I’ve allowed the eye repair treatment to work overnight.
5. Social CBD Foot Renewal Cream ($35)
I’ll admit, I’m a country bumpkin. I love walking around outside barefoot, feeling the the coolness of the earth underneath my feet is truly therapeutic. But my love for the outdoors can often leave my feet looking…ugh. I’ve been using the Social CBD Foot Renewal Cream for about a month, and it has totally changed the way my feet look. This product is formulated to help nourish your feet and make them feel a lot softer, while the CBD in the product works to alleviate any pain. If you’re looking for a product to take your pedicures to the next level, then I can’t recommend this more. With continued use, you will see a difference in how your feet look and feel and your calluses will eventually be non-existent.
My recommendation: When you’re in the shower, make sure you use a pumice stone to soften any rough patches on your feet. When you get out of the shower, massage a quarter-sized amount into each of your feet. Let them dry for a bit, and you’re good to go!
I don’t usually cramp when my period comes on, but the last few months I’ve been experiencing more cramping because I’ve been dealing with a lot more stress. Moon Mother Hemp’s Wise Woman Comfort Balm, which has 500 mg of CBD, is a literal god-send. As soon as I apply it to my stomach area, I can feel it working. Within 30-minutes, the pain is gone.
My recommendation: If you’re looking for an alternative to pain-killers, then add this to your period self-care kit. Where ever you feel pain at, scoop out a small amount of this product, warm it in your hands, and massage it into the problem area. While it’s working, grab a book and a cool glass of water and relax.
7. Quim Smooth Operator Intimate Serum ($48)
I like to use this particular serum when I am having “me-time”. It’s particularly helpful because I tend to carry a lot of stress in my hips and pelvis, and Smooth Operators unique formula promotes pelvic relaxation. If you’re looking to have an intense orgasm and wake-up with that after-sex glow, then look no further.
My recommendations: This is one of my favorite products to use when I practice self-pleasure. Rub it on your clitoris and vulva 5-7 minutes before you plan to get busy. Use your fingers or grab your favorite dildo, and give yourself the courtesy of a much-needed orgasm.
8. Manna Vella CBD Sexual Enhancer ($7.49)
Let me preface this by saying that this product was made by the same scientist behind Viagra, so it’s pretty intense. Formulated to enhance female sexual arousal, Manna Vella CBD Sexual Enhancer will make you feel good while increasing the pleasure that you receive from your partner. When I first used this product, I was definitely not expecting it to work that well. The 20mg pack comes with enough serum for about 3-4 uses. The first time I used it was for self-pleasure, but when I tried it with my partner the experience was a lot more satisfying because I was a lot more excited. He was turning me on, and the Manna Vella had turned me on to the point where the sex was way more pleasurable than usual.
My Recommendation: Right after you moisturize your body and you’re putting on your sexy lingerie, rub this on your clitoris and around your vulva. As you go through your ritual of getting sexy, you will feel more turned on and ready to receive the pleasure that you deserve.
9. Gaia Herbs 20 MG Hemp Oil ($79.99)
I’ve tried a few hemp tinctures, but this is by far my favorite. The botanical terpene blend gives it a very earthy taste, but if you want to support your endocannabinoid system and begin to build a relationship with the cannabis plant, then I couldn’t recommend this more.
My recommendation: Take a dropper full everyday. Like all of your other bodily systems, your endocannabinoid needs to be adequately supported so that it can support you.
