At this unprecedented time in our history, where stress is high and most of us are staying safe indoors, it’s important to cultivate healthy inner space, both within your home and your own body.
That’s why today we’re announcing the launch of Wellness Within, a video series designed to promote self-care and healthy habits when we need it the most. As part of our first installment, we’ll be guiding our viewers on how to make a cannabis-infused bath soak using our 3:1 Raw Cannabis Sublingual and a few simple ingredients below.
What You’ll Need
Epsom salt is not the same as traditional “table salt”, or even sea salt. Epsom salt is composed of magnesium sulphate, and magnesium is an essential electrolyte in the human body that relaxes the muscles. This makes it a great addition to your bath to loosen up any tightness, ease minor aches and pains, and just promote overall relaxation. If you don’t have Epsom salt at home, sea salt is a viable alternative. Because sea salt is derived from evaporated ocean water, it still contains trace minerals like magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron, and potassium, plus it helps cleanse and detoxify the largest organ in the body, your skin.
We advise against using traditional table salt in your bath because much of it has been stripped of its minerals and iodized, so it has the potential to cause some localized skin irritation.
Lavender essential oil is a highly therapeutic aromatic. That soft, calming scent that we associate with lavender is due to a terpene called linalool. Interestingly, many cannabis strains contain linalool as well, which is why when you’re smoking or ingesting cannabis you can get that calming effect. If you don’t have lavender essential oil, fresh-cut lavender or dried lavender flowers added to your bath can achieve a similar effect.
If you’ve ever used Vicks Vaporub on your chest, you have experienced firsthand that eucalyptus has an incredible ability to open up your breathing passages. When added to your bath, either on its own or as part of a bath soak, the vapours from the oil rise up with the steam, clearing out your nose and lungs.
3:1 Raw Cannabis Sublingual
Our 3:1 Sublingual features just two ingredients—whole-plant cannabis and extra virgin olive oil. As the name suggests, our sublinguals have been designed to be taken internally, administered under the tongue. However, you can also add a dropper full of your favourite sublingual to a topical formula, or in this case a bath salt, as a way to incorporate the healing properties of cannabis into your self-care regimen. Because the 3:1 has a ratio of three-parts CBDA to every one-part THCA, it has a particularly sedative, calming effect, making it the perfect addition to a relaxing soak.
- 2 cups Epsom salt
- 1mL 3:1 Raw Cannabis Sublingual
- 5-6 drop lavender essential oil
- 5-6 drops eucalyptus essential oil
Measure out your Epsom salt and add to a large mixing bowl. Add essential oils, 3:1 Sublingual, and stir. Draw yourself a bath and relax! Awakened was created by patients, for patients.
Awakened Topicals was created in 2014 when founder Levi Strom was involved in a life-threatening accident that required emergency spinal surgery, followed by months of recovery. As a long-time cannabis grower and proponent of herbal medicine, Levi formulated his own plant-based topicals and tinctures to ease his pain. It is these same formulas that serve as the basis for the Awakened line today, designed to relieve pain and inflammation and promote everyday wellness.
It is our sincere hope that by making the best quality cannabis products available, you will be healthier, happier, and spend far more days pain-free.
