How to Use the Cannabis Concentrate

Cannabis was once considered a controversial product when it was first introduced in the market. This is back when there was not enough scientific evidence and when people only assumed that Cannabis was meant to make people high and nothing else. However, it is now proven that cannabis has two different compounds, the first compound is Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which is the psychoactive compound that produces the effect of being “high.” The second component is cannabidiol which we know as CBD. CBD does not contain any psychoactive effects, however, it is believed to have several medicinal benefits.

Over the past few decades, multiple studies have started surfacing that are helping to garner more support towards CBD as a legal and alternative treatment option. Studies have shown that CBD oil helps with inflammation, seizures, joint aches, chronic pains, pain relief, controlling the intensity of symptoms in autism and so on. These are just a few examples of cases where CBD was found to be beneficial. Of course, more research is required before serious scientific claims can be made, but for the time being, CBD is currently the talk of the town, even amongst conservatives that first opposed the substance.

CBD is usually found in the form of cannabis oil or extract. It can be consumed in several different ways ranging from pure CBD extract to tinctures, topical creams, edibles, and it can also be used to smoke or vape as well if you happen to be a traditionalist. Smoking and vaping are considered to be the fastest ways to consume a higher volume of CBD at once. A high-quality vape pen battery will directly enhance your experience of vaporizing cannabis, so if you happen to be interested, you can invest in a vape.

CBD is primarily produced from both hemp and marijuana. CBD oil that is extracted from hemp is high in CBD and low in THC, however, CBD oil that is extracted from marijuana while low in CBD, is also high in terpenes and other compounds that are known for additional medicinal benefits. So, it is safe to say that there is a diverse world of cannabis concentrates that can be consumed in a variety of different ways. So, when we talk about CBD, it is safe to say that we are talking about a very wide subject. Of course, this article is not meant to persuade you to start anything as it exists only for the sake of educational purposes. It is advisable that you observe the necessary laws of your state and talk to different professionals and get their take on things before you try anything new because while CBD is garnering a lot of support, it is still not explored enough in the field of science and medicine to be making bold claims about it.

Concentrates and Extracts

Concentrates are different from extracts in the sense that concentrates do not contain any solvents or other medium to support the oil. It will have the essence, smell and the effects of the CBD oil in one compact way. Cannabis concentrates are usually extracted from trichomes, which are structures present inside certain parts of the plant. Depending on the type of plant you are extracting your concentrate from, your CBD concentrate can come in a variety of colors, textures, smells, and can even have different appearances. These physical differences do not mean much, but it can still help you differentiate the kind of concentrate that you prefer.

Extracts, on the other hand, contain CBD oil with a solvent to dilute it a bit. So, concentrates will produce the desired effects that you want a lot more quickly, and at the same time, it will also have a longer bioavailability as well. Bioavailability refers to the duration of time that the concentrate will be in your body, so the effects can last you anywhere between an hour and even 3 hours or longer depending on several things.

Consuming Cannabis Concentrate

Cannabis concentrate can be consumed in a variety of different ways, and depending on your tolerance and personal preference, you can pick and choose your preferred method of consuming cannabis concentrate.

Topping Your Joint/Flower

A very common and simple way to consume concentrates is by wrapping a bit of concentrate around your joint and then smoking it, or putting powdered kief to your bowl or pipe. This is a very quick way for you to consume CBD concentrate, and it is also relatively inexpensive since you do not require any fancy tools or setup to consume it.

Dabbing happens to be the most common way to consume CBD extract. For you to dab, you will need to place your concentrate on a dab rig or a dab nail. You will then light up the nail to heat it. You then apply the CBD concentrate directly to the surface of the nail which then creates vapors that can be inhaled. This is considered to be one of the fastest and most common ways to use CBD concentrate.

Vaping is another common way to consume CBD. It also happens to be a discreet way that does not harm your health either. This is because Vaping only produces vapor and does not produce any smoke which is known to be bad for you. When it comes to vapes, you have a variety of different options to choose from, including:

  • Pre-filled vape pens come with cartridges that are already filled with CBD extract or concentrate. Once the cartridge is finished, you will have to buy a new one, however, you can still change the batteries and reuse them multiple times.
  • Handheld vapes can be used to smoke more discreetly, and at the same time, you can refill the chamber multiple times with CBD concentrate whenever you run out. This means that you can get multiple uses out of the same vape pen. So, if you are looking for a more economically-friendly option, then a handheld vape is a possible option.
