MILF Rev’s Rave: Cinderella 99

Beautiful Cinderella 99 Buds

Welcome Skunkers, to another MILF (Marijuana I’d Love to Find) Rev’s Rave, today, looking at the Cinderella 99 (C99). She is super-worthy when you are talking pure connoisseur smoke—wowzerz! I’m not going to regurgitate C99 stuff as much as update this princess strain, for 2021.

First off, whenever I use the F-generation in quotations, this simply means the strain was already an IBL (inbred line) and the F-generation in quotes is just how many additional times I have inbred it. She is still in my top-5 favorite strains list; and has been for over a decade now.

This morning at about 5 AM… I was doing some bongloads of the pineapple phenotype of this strain. Yikes! I used to think this phenotype was limited to a certain morphology expression. The plants were a tad smaller and even more petite than regular phenotypes. Recently, I have seen the pineapple phenotype emerge within a “giant” by C99 standards. I affectionately call this phenotype “The Beast” and she is both larger overall, and yields about 10-15% larger than your average phenotype. Read on…

The Rundown—Flowering Time, Phenotypes, Etc.

I got my original seeds of this strain from my old buddy R. C. Cola decades ago. He got them from Bros. Grimm and as I understand it, he was friends with them. The first inbreed I did was an open-blow using multiple females and males. A few males and a few females. I made the (KOS’) “f2” generation this way. Searching through the “f2s” I found a female that was not only a mega-potent and smelly, but also had some seriously dominant purple expressions. Pretty rare on a couple fronts.

I used 2 males and two females (“f2s”) to make the “f3s” using the purple female as one of the females and both males showed strong purple flags/markers. The KOS C99 became mostly a purple strain at that point, around a decade ago or so.

Making the “f4s” was another open-blow pollination using multiple male (4) and female (8) “f3” generation individuals. The “f3” males and females selected were 75% purple phenotypes. My good friend Dr. Anarchy was kind enough to spare a flowering room for this operation making the “f4” generation.

Flowering Times & Phenotypes

The purple phenotypes like to flower for about 8.5 – 9 weeks. The other regular killer C99 phenotypes that are not purple mostly (90%) flower for 8 weeks right about on the nose. There are rare exceptions. I know fanatics LoL, that insist on 7-weeks flowering time, regarding the phenotype I regard as 8-week flowering phenotype, in other words, the normal average killer Cinderella 99. To each their own baybee.

Above in the bud photo you can see the phenotype of C99 I call “The Beast” and she was noticeably larger than all her siblings. Larger size overall and larger yields, both up by about 15%+ or so. Still not a large yielding plant, but def large for a Cindy 99. I was just flowering some Cindy for personal smoke last year, and stumbled across not one, but two pineapple phenotypes from 10 original females from 12 KOS seeds

I selected the first pineapple phenotype, recognizing it right away. I often call these phenotypes “the weirdos” when I am hunting them. Slightly different calyx to leaf ratio, and usually extra petite; often non symmetrical. She occurs like in 1 out of 6 females or so. Maybe 1 out of 8. I also selected The Beast phenotype just because, wow. Low and behold, The Beast, a fully-fledged candied pineapple phenotype. Extra resin, extra smelly and tasty sweet pineapple—yup. Just bigger. I don’t know how often these show up, but they do.

C99 Growing Information

GROWER: The Rev

She grows very easily indoors. Outdoors she does not like any real humidity unless there are constant good winds. As many long IBL lines are, she is not super resistant to mold, or plant parasites period. I would totally recommend you have a pest free garden before deciding to grow Cinderella 99. Other than that, just don’t overwater her and you should be all fine. She tolerates pH range in a fairly wide bandwidth so a little high or low doesn’t bug her very much at all.

She handles heat and cold extremes fairly easily per my observations. She is very sexually healthy so it takes a lot to cause her to express hermies. Major light leaks, extreme OD with nutrients, or extreme drought can cause hermies to appear. I also wouldn’t let her go beyond 10.5 weeks without keeping a very close eye on her. She dries pretty fast due to her thinner stem morphology, so FYI there too.

Afterword Smoking with Rev

In the growing info above I mention the petite stems of the C99. Just another little addition that makes this strain have such high appeal to the connoisseur cannabis enthusiast. Stems are evil when it comes to smoking any buds. I go way out of my way to remove all stem material possible to remove before rolling a doobie or ripping some bongs. All of the C99’s stems are very petite so they represent less of an evil threat from go—ya follow? Very cool indeed.

The Cinderella is a true muse, and while she lends herself to creativity and wonder, she also has a little bit of an energy side to her. I call it “dark energy” and I don’t mean that in a bad way. Would I want to be baked on her while lost in a forest at night during a lightning storm? No, I would not—LoL—however, she doesn’t rise to the level of paranoid inducing in my experience/opinion. She’s just too much fun for that. The curiosity filled, sparkling and inspired ride from her is uniquely sativa inspired.

Grab some of these seeds over here: Kingdom Organic Seeds. And, if you want some tips to help you achieve pest-free status in your gardens, maybe you want to give this article a read: Pest Free Indoor Gardens – Skunk Magazine. The Cinderella 99 has it all, all except big yields. I care about yields myself, but they do not hold the number one place in my heart when it comes to cannabis. That place is all about the resin properties baybee—the ride! Cindy is a huge winner if you feel as like. L8r G8rs, see ya back next Tuesday.
